Welcome to the Connecticut Parkinson's Working Group

We are a non-profit organization that provides support and social networking for people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers. We meet once a month to share information and experiences. Most meetings have a presenter who is an expert in his/her field.

Our November 20, 2021 meeting will be both in-person and online! This event requires pre-registration so we can send the Zoom link to online attendees and ensure adequate social distancing space for in-person attendees. To register, please email martha.jaffe@cpwg.org and identify if you will be joining online or in-person.

The “SPEAK OUT PROGRAM” and the special therapies that complement it

Please join us at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1055 Randolph Road, Middletown, CT OR Online (Zoom)

Get to know the outpatient Therapy Department at the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, CT.

Krista Orszulak, MS / CCC-SLP Speech Language Pathologist, will inform us about the new SPEAK OUT approach developed by the Parkinson Voice Project and the LSVT LOUD Program. Two of her associates, Dorothy Villano, PT, and Kate Williams, OT, will demonstrate therapies they use to help PWP’s manage tremor, posture, breathing and how they may impact our speech. We might even get to try some of them! Questions will be encouraged.
